Physiotherapist
Mei Yu is a registered physiotherapist with the Malaysian Allied Health Professions Council (MAHPC) – Reg. No. MAHPC(PT)03361, She received her Bachelor Degree of Physiotherapy (Hons) from University Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR). Throughout her university time, she gained valuable experience during her clinical placements in several different government hospitals in Kuala Lumpur. Since then, she has developed a strong interest in musculoskeletal and sports rehabilitation. She enjoys the challenges from treating sports injuries and musculoskeletal cases.
To better serve her clients, Mei Yu continuously reads, learns and expands her knowledge on the latest evidence based best practice. She is specialized in Trigger Point Dry Needling (level 2) and Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM) to help her clients’ pain. She is also a certified Champion Performance Specialist who specialized in assessing movements and building performance based therapy and training programs. She strongly believes that active rehabilitation and education are the keys to a success and long-term recovery result.
Mei Yu sees a lot of clients who play different sports, such as running, cycling, swimming, basketball, badminton, futsal, golf, dodgeball, Frisbee and so on. She also sees clients who suffered from pain due to occupational overuse injuries, including neck and back pain with the office worker, plantar fasciitis and tennis elbow with the housewife and more.
Mei Yu is passionate in helping all levels of athletes and the general population to move pain- free and become stronger in their sports or life. She also encourages and educates her clients on self- management tactics for long term prevention.
When Mei Yu is not working, she enjoys hiking, running and spending her time outdoors with her friends.
